The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? Good movie to bring is truth and reality.
很多观众会把这部影片和《中国医生》做比较。对《中国医生》差评的较多，这也是意料之内的。首先，这两部影片呈现形式上不能说对与错，只是国家意识形态不同。影片中的国家（或者说该影片）强调的是个人在灾害面前的反应，国家中的个体与政府有种“对抗”的关系。而《中国医生》是以国家层面宏观叙事了。直观的感受是影片《援助》完整讲了一个故事，《中国医生》像一些琐碎的情节拼凑而成。《中国医生》的制片人和导演肯定明白这部影片的水平，但在当下，只能那么拍。

典型的小故事，大映射，强批判。无论从几乎全篇幅的浅焦镜头，还是从故事的设定，包括HELP每次出现的含义，都有很强的共情力，而且科默小姐姐的表现是真的有点厉害+1。但...最牛逼的地方可能还是那段：“我搞到的防护设备...全是从中国送来的。”
