The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 就是动作戏好点，其余从剧情到，拍摄，演员的演技都缺点火候
最后来一段宣誓仪式，再来一段字幕形式的判刑和普法，是不是都成惯例了？...
制作粗糙但能感觉到用了心，演员都挺好，谢苗身手还是和小时候一样干净利索~
第一阶梯李小龙，第二阶梯李连杰成龙，第三阶梯甄子丹，动作片的第四阶梯就要靠谢苗了吧！哈哈哈……
故事紧凑，不矫情，不拖泥带水，打斗真实，这才是动作片的态度，五星支持谢苗，加油。
谢苗有几部网大质量还是很高的，上院线也是可以的，新生代动作演员就靠你抗大旗了。
有一说一，东北味儿挺足的。
没报期望反而觉得还挺好看的，虽然剧情有点老套但是节奏挺不错，演员也都很卖力，可以期待新作！加油！

最后没有枪是因为过不了安检么？不过那年代有安检么？剧情就那样吧，武戏太多了，不是最后看拍的那么辛苦，都只想给两颗星，还有太个人主意了，最后就是就怕坏人有学问
2.可惜谢苗始终不瘟不火
逻辑上真就很扯，许多事情很难成立，但看起来可真得劲儿啊，拳拳到肉哪管他逻辑呢
不吹不黑，这拳拳到肉的动作场面秒杀许多院线影片。
写实派动作电影在大陆的新代表，谢苗，值得期待。
可能受制于制作成本的原因，故事特别简单，但是很完整。

故事冲突制造的生硬无比，好歹是讲完了。拍个系列吧。
剧情固然是有瑕疵的，但是这些瑕疵是在可以接受的范围之内，所以我认为这是一部完成度很高，故事发展流畅，非常优秀的动作片！如今的华语电影里，动作片江河日下，但总有那么一帮人不信邪，看看这些武行有多拼吧！向你们致敬！希望有更多的优秀网络动作电影出现！希望有更好看的续集作品出现！
