The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 东木桑最新作品。德州牛仔版《菊次郎之夏》。一老一小外加一只名叫 Macho 的公鸡的公路片。
典型的公路题材电影，可惜没有多少闪光点，有点太过细碎和泛泛。
东木老爷子还这么敬业，虽然剧情上有些跳跃吧，后面女主虽然是墨西哥的，但是作为寡妇那么多年，也太主动了点吧。。。
牛仔大爷太老了，他刚一出场我都不相信自己的眼睛，全片充满了烈士暮年的感觉，也象征着牛仔精神的没落。
老人、孩子与鸡。一场乘着夕阳之光而行进的公路电影。东木年事已高，在他的创作中已十分明显，有着一种不愿面对纷杂纠葛的慈悲与和蔼。
行货吧，也不能说差，但就是没什么出彩的点，除了几段的摄影。

简介有误吧。老牛仔去带孩子的原因是他还欠着农场主的人情，而农场主当初在墨国有以前妻名义投资的产业，现在农场主想以孩子要挟前妻才有了这个故事。

这是一个真善美的儿童片吧？片头的pure American country music 倒是不错啊。
比《老爷车》稍微缺了一点点，但比《Mule》要好很多。
这部拍的确实有点糙，考虑老爷子的年龄多给一星。
