The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 主角没有人物弧光，显得单薄了些。不过易烊千玺凭借自己身上矛盾的少年稚气和成熟偏执，很大程度上弥补了这点缺失。

今年威尼斯节最佳导演奖获得者，女导演简.坎皮恩就是28年前与陈凯歌的《霸王别姬》共同分享戛纳电影节金棕榈奖的人，那时她的作品是《钢琴课》。本片根据美国的小说改编，写早期美国西部牛仔生活，也可谓写了个“男同”的奇情故事。导演厉害处在于其极度含蓄地控制力，以及在细腻的人物刻画中显示的功力。只是平淡地敘说很难引起观众的共鸣。男主演卷福的表演出色。

太工整了，每次难关都看似绝望，实则轻易跨过。打架那段热血，赶火车和追货车是紧张和悲伤倍增，最快乐又辛酸是婚礼上喝醉的景浩。

不太喜欢结尾成功那段，小资本家依附大资本家的感觉，我是真不喜欢强行对别人感恩戴德。景浩妈妈看着俩孩子，说的那句，我也不想走啊，真给我弄哭了
剧情你都猜得到，但是还是被这种微小又坚韧的力量打动，被小角色间那一点善意打动……演员们真的都演得太好了啊
有一点在意，易烊千玺的台词，是为了表现他因穷困的瘦弱无力吗，有些地方听着太小声没有力量感。不过他声音真的好苏啊，哄妹妹的时候我都在想他可能过两年就能演单亲爸爸了哈哈哈。
易烊千玺的演技还是非常棒的。题材也很适宜。最后Beyond的海阔天空太感人了！

导演对节奏的掌控能力依旧不俗，但是故事本身的冲突实在很单一，跟前作中那些复杂的伦理困境无法相比。
每个人都是奇迹的创造者，前提是有能力和足够幸运。
