The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 脑洞真的很大，有很多可以思考和挖掘的地方。很多梗也好玩，比如2045年荷兰已经被淹了😅 还有未来世界的广告推送机制太可怕了，比现在还要密切地监视我们每一个人。成年人的感情真的没有孩子的纯粹，来得快走得也快… e三分剧情，两分制作！
超现实？过理想？不知道最后哪个才是结局。感觉是个科幻喜剧哈哈哈，有些地方还挺好笑的，虽然有些地方也有点突然。女仆那一下真是感动到了，再出来的时候也是有点惊悚。文艺男有点窝囊，还是前夫莽一点，秘书人设也挺有意思的，不知是单纯还是傻还是神经。
未说出口的爱而引发的怅然，含蓄是东亚人的美，也是东亚人的痛
该片的“丧”别具魅力，不仅不会令人感到压抑，反而会让人觉得释放，就像在嘈杂的城市生活中经历了一次心灵洗涤。
机器人挺好玩的，吸机油跟吸可口可乐似的，庄周梦蝶也是脑洞大了
到尤尼克斯们围攻那一家的时候我都觉得还行，然后把bigbug丢给尤尼克斯内部自己杀自己，最后……不过bigbug也可能指那些认为自己是人类的人工智能，但最后那一下真把我整懵了、庄周梦蝶挺喜欢的hhh
無聊🥱科幻⋯法國人的看不懂⋯（劇中的剥鸡蛋的✌️不錯，想要一個）
看下来一直到结局感觉都很黑暗，比较客观的视角叙事，政府强行压制言论自由，仿佛世界都不见天日。电影的摄影很棒，场景也特别还原80年代，不过缺点也特别大，就是电影太长了，没有目的性取舍且似乎又有往商业电影的节奏靠拢，明显没有把握住。
是那种过一个月一个字剧情都想不起来的电影，别看。
当喜剧小品看挺不错
画风蛮喜欢的，多出来一星给新冠好吧哈哈哈哈哈真的笑死了，尤利西斯要抓他们上法庭的时候，还以为会有第二部呢

基本是三倍速看完，看完之后只想说幸好是三倍速还不算是浪费了太多时间……海啸幸存者自述一整个在云端的既视感，然而故事没讲好，大量的时长也没拍出足够出色的氛围，看了个寂寞
最后机器人被吓到导致不小心把自己设置成敌对对象也蛮离谱的，收尾太匆忙，也太夸张
幽默的法式科幻，在未来的时空用荒诞戏谑的方式讲着亘古不变的人性
设定很新颖，但是剧情着实有点无聊，可能是我看不太懂法式幽默吧，还有几个家居机器人挺可爱的哈哈哈哈哈哈
