The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 夸张鬼魅的惊悚配乐，主观俯视的镜头调度。
黑木华的演技才叫演戏。。。坂口健太郎花期好短。。。
受不了。。。真的好看吗。。好慢啊太拖沓了吧，好无聊。但是生生死死这种东西总是感人的只能这样说。
空空荡荡的公寓，势单力薄的女子，血腥残忍的谋杀，锋利无比的利器，绝不露面的凶手，以及转场必备的合成器配乐，大量的铅黄恐怖片元素让人越看越嗨，以为会是《阴风阵阵》那种铅黄片走向，结果内核又回到了温子仁特有的灵异附身题材，而且这次的附身连伏地魔都要直呼内行。全片算是温子仁的一次类型实验，完整版里各种断手断脚桥段看得生疼，以至于都有点身体恐怖的感觉。
听名字还以为是坂口健太郎和小松菜奈携手亡命天涯。
据说编剧是导演的老婆，其实是个女性在潜意识里对脱发的恐惧的故事。
怎么会拍的一点记忆点都没有哈哈哈。不过感觉适合拿去做混剪（

3.5，这个配乐超喜欢，温子仁还是挺会利用房屋结构的。下午寝室一个人戴耳机看，前面看得背脊发凉，心理上的，后面反转的时候背脊又开始发凉，生理上的，挺血腥，真的有被恶心到。
当我们哭丧着渴望以死作为逃避无聊生活的最后一招时，难以相信自己竟然会深深共情于茉莉渴望活下去时倚靠着母亲肩膀泣不成声的画面。他们都可怜，只有真正只身面对病魔的人必须佯装勇敢。无论是谁的生活，都可以有如樱花、烟花、雪花一样的美好瞬间，可以有如桔梗、沙苗、和人一样值得留恋的人。活着的一个很重要的事情就是去发现和记录这些美好。PS.小松的演技好像提高了耶，情绪爆发的部分很酷了！有刘海的坂口小天使VS没有刘海的坂口小天使，居然是后者赢了，变老一点的坂口健太郎也很有魅力呢！
10年的厚重感在片子里如樱花瓣那么薄。在日本的第一部日语片，值得纪念。

主题曲一响,瞬间带入情感,野田洋次郎的词曲真的太有力量了啊!!真戳心!!!
我他妈真的服了温子仁了，一个没有鬼的电影死的人比前几部鬼片加起来死得都多！在几乎所有好莱坞导演都在探索新技术的时候，温导大踏步的后退，愣是从被人嘲笑多少年的铅黄电影当中挖掘出新的宝藏。他完美袭承了约翰·卡朋特，山姆·雷米，托比·霍珀等人的恐怖元素，成功塑造出手持利刃，身穿黑衣，行走如风，杀人如麻的全新怪物形象，并且让心电感应一词真正具现化，真的是应了国家电网那句话：您用电，我用心！忽明忽暗吓死您！我已经有很多年没有见过集变态、丑陋、诡异、恶趣味于一身的怪物了！前半段我还在纳闷，为什么温子仁这次没有那么吓人了，后来才发现自己太天真了，温导已经从“我要用你看不见的东西吓死你”进化为“我要用你看得见的东西吓死你”，我现在心里面就一件事，烧香拜佛求菩萨求上帝都行，二十一世纪恐怖大师：温子仁，长命百岁
不敢相信这次是温子仁导演，整部电影质感如同低成本的老式恐怖片，仅后半小时的观感尚可。创意很好，可控制电磁场的超能力是哪来的？节奏和内核与招魂系列很相似，先是情节反转，最后点题落到亲情上。
