The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 唔……我刚才看的时候突然想到，我是不是在看一部好莱坞商业大片辉煌时代最后的尾巴上的科幻电影啊……如果真是这样，那就真的是，看一部少一部了。不敢想象未来的电影市场会是什么样子……会不会就没有英雄了，没有自由，没有对利维坦的控诉和反抗，剩下了集体至上，剩下了乖乖宝，剩下万寿无疆了……虽不知道那种正确或者更好，但是呢，这样的转变我真的不想再来一遍了……fuck！
就找了一堆算是知名的影星演了一个比较老土而且很多bug的故事，也不是说很烂，但就是很平庸，符合Netflix这种电影的质量。
一部披着科幻外衣的亲情片，能让你在周末的夜晚会心一笑，默默感动，就值了。（而且提前看到了漫威死侍和绿巨人同框，超值哎唉！）
流水线科幻大片。质量和国内网大差不多。只是演员阵容比较豪华。
时间旅行的外壳，父子亲情的内核，好在相对完整均衡，好看好玩的爆米花。
故事没有展开啊，就真的是描述了一个计划，直到最后实现了它。以为是个宏大的科幻片，其实是个披着科幻外衣的合家欢片，也还可以。
明星助阵，特效震撼，算是比较不错的一部爆米花商业片。只是剧情过于样式化，甚至格式化。就像有个通用的模板一样。对了，也许可以叫“公式科幻片”。基本上可以说小贱贱的人气和表演为影片挽回不少好评。另外定睛一看，4大主演一家人，都是漫威超英背景呀……爸爸绿巨人、妈妈艾丽卡、女友卡魔拉……

家里停电的那一秒钟我连本片续集的结尾都想好了，纯纯的大数据片remix漫威刷脸，谢天谢地本片足够短。
中年是死侍，爸爸是绿巨人，妈妈是艾丽卡（夜魔侠女友），老婆是卡魔拉，真是神奇家族，依旧嘴贱碎碎念，配乐也很复联

“三绿”齐聚家庭场，时空穿越多美好，穿得很好，下次不要再干了谢谢。
设定不用说了，是很弱的，随便举个例子，比如按照电影中的设定，不同时空的自己会相互影响的。那比如两个男主之间会随时随刻的同步变化，当然了如果真要这么严谨的拍摄的话，估计任何按此设定的穿越题材的影视都做不到，但即便如此，一些大的事件还是应该相互影响的。但本片显然年这种大的改变都没有体现。
科幻设定非常随便一切全靠口胡包括打败反派 时空想穿就穿平行世界也随便穿 不过与其说是科幻不如说是披了科幻外壳的亲情片 里面有几段还是能戳到我 当曾经的人不在了 那么所有有关ta的回忆全都会变成痛苦 所以忘掉或是假装那是不好的回忆就不会再痛了 最后父亲知道自己很快就会不在所以趁还能见面说出了平时大概永远不会说出口的话也是泪目 所以要活在当下 珍惜眼前人 因为谁也不知道明天会发生什么 离别也许就是最后一面 总之不要当是科幻当是个亲情片还算可以一看 能缩短点时长不要那么拖就更好了
比《失控玩家》要好，起码剧本是一气呵成的。内核其实很温暖，它本质上也是部家庭电影，教导不同年龄段的人该如何面对亲人的离世，即使这种温情戏码又稍显烂俗，但还是那句老话，人人都嫌弃Netflix，没了Netflix，可能还真没有人搞原创科幻了。
看这种旧瓶装旧酒的片子跟去楼下排队100分钟做核酸差不多。
放松身心的爆米花。不过，都2050年的科技了这么黑科技的战斗机怎么还在用机炮🙄 激光炮呢，再不济的话电磁炮总该行吧🤔
猫咪有点吓人 全片觉得最有视觉冲击力的就是火车上的行李箱了
