The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 美术风格、画面镜头、服化道这些都极尽完美之能事，故事剧情就算了吧，原本就是个没啥看头的传说故事，看之前可以先去读一下那个故事。

整个剧情程设挺棒的，把故事内核就是讲主人公如何习得骑士精神，以及做一个明君的基本素质，融入在了主人公的旅途当中。个人的今年佳作之一。

单论视听，称得上艺术品。故事和风格相比84版大相径庭，对原著的改编也不少，大卫·洛维这种非常A24的艺术片风格，加上晦涩的叙事，对普通观众确实不太友好，3星半。
原版诗歌高文近乎完美无瑕的完成了试炼，电影改版注入了很多人性的东西，吝啬算计胆怯背叛淫欲几乎就是骑士美德的反面，高文最后几分钟闪过一生后，摘下腰带从容赴死，才是真正完成了试炼。拍摄手法很高级，内核也不差，考虑文化背景差异，这片子评价不好非常正常
史诗级的模样，却没有史诗级的内核，虽然本来也没有很期待，看完果然如我所想...
